Fronlas Cafe Cosy cafe in the high street offers a small but good value menu. Great for morning coffee too! Tel. 01239 820351

Golden Lion Restaurant The beautifully refurbished restaurant offers good food in very comfortable modern surroundings. Excellent value and well worth considering

Llys Meddyg Restaurant Tel. 01239 82008.  Excellent cuisine although prices are quite high. Recommended by those who have dined at Llys Meddyg..

Morawelon Restaurant Parrog.Tel. 01239 82 0565. Beautifully situated Cafe and Restaurant overlooking the sea. Good food at a reasonable price. Ideal for lunch or dinner - check days open for dinner.

The Royal Oak Pub.  Local Pub providing reasonably good food– Specialty is Curry. 

The Golden Lion Pub . Good pub food provided in the bar - worth considering the restaurant.

Restaurants a short distance from Newport

Cardigan - Teife Blue Floating Restaurant - Indian cuisine.   Ideal venue from which to enjoy the river views. The Restaurant is not personally recommended but if you enjoy Indian cuisine this restaurant could be worth trying.   Tel. 01239 621444

Cilgerran - The Glasshouse Cafe The Visitor Centre houses a 'treetop' level cafe with panoramic views of the Teifi River. (Directions - Turn to the village of Cilgerran. At Pen-y-Bryn follow the brown signs to the Wildlife Centre). This cafe has not been visited and we cannot personally recommend it or the Wildlife Centre. However, if you are visiting Cilgerran and its castle, then the wildlife centre may be worth visiting.Tel. 01239 621600

Dinas - Old Sailor Pwllgwallod, Dinas, approx 3 miles from Newport.  The Old Sailor overlooks a very pretty bay with lovely walks along the coastal path or a level footpath through the valley to the picturesque bay of Cwm-yr-eglwys. The restaurant specialises in sea food and is very reasonably priced - lobser is recommended for lunch.  The proprietor buys most of his wine from France and he tends to choose well. Quincy from the Sancerre region is one of our favourites at this restaurant. Tel. 01348 811 491. 

Salutation Inn and Denley's Restaurant Website Felindre Farchog Tel. 01239 820 585. Denley's restaurant was refurbished in 2006 providing excellent contemporary surroundings overlooking a large patio and the River Nevern. Opening times will vary over the year. Well worth considering.

Felindre - Henllys Farm Farchog, Nr. Newport Tel. 01239 820578. Farmhouse cream teas. Open July-August 2-5pm. A charming setting with lovely surroundings.

Gellifawr, Pontfaen - Gellifawr Hotel  Restaurant about 6 miles out of Newport.   Good food and non-hotel atmosphere. Great food and particularly recommended for Sunday lunch. Tel. 01239 820343 Website 

Goodwick/Fishguard - The Farmhouse Kitchen Nr Fishgaurd Tel (01348) 873907. The Farmhouse provides a small restaurant with good value food.

Letterston - Somethings Cooking a little further away, en route to Haverfordwest. A very, very popular upmarket fish and chip restaurant Website

Porthgain - The Sloop Inn Porthgain, Haverfordwest. Pub restaurant about 15 miles from Newport.  Good food, good value and great atmosphere. A visit to Porthgain incorporating a meal at the pub is well worth the  visit  Website  This site may be under construction. Tel 0134 831449

St Dogmaels - Ferry Inn (Newport side of Cardigan). The Ferry Inn is in a perfect location for a riverside drink or pub meal. The idyllic setting makes the Ferry Inn well worth a visit. Tel. 01239 615172.

St Dogmaels - Y Felin Mill and Tea Room dating back to the twelfth century.One of only two working mills in Wales. Completely renovated with its original machinery. Guided tours available revealing the making of a wonderful selection of flour including Welsh organic wholemeal, seed and herb and garlic and chive. Tea room with home made produce. The Mill is open Monday to Saturday. The Tea Rooms are closed at weekends. Tel 01239 613999 to check Mill is open. Y Felin Mill and Tea Room have not been personally visited.
