Distant View of Dormy House from Newport Sands

Dormy House is set in the UK’s only Coastal National Park and enjoys one of the most beautiful views in Pembrokeshire. Newport Sands, the Nevern Estuary and coastal path are all within a short walk from the apartment.

The long stretch of sandy beach, together with the picturesque bay provides a choice of swimming, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, fishing or just relaxing. The scenic estuary provides a haven of bird life. The choice of beautiful coastal, woodland, river and splendid walks across open moorland is almost endless. Bikes and ponies are available for day hire. Nearby there are numerous sheltered picturesque coves with sandy beaches.

Clay Pigeon Shooting at Newcastle Emlyn.

Fishing Llysfran Reservoir and Country Park, near Rosebush. The Reservoir offers the largest game fishing venue in West Wales and is regularly stocked with rainbow trout. Fly fishing is only available from boats and tuition is provided. Fishing available either from the bank or from boats. Recommended Walks

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path – A few minutes walk from Dormy House. Preseli Hills There are many wonderful and exhilarating walks on the Preseli Hills offering an abundance of ponies and spectacular views in every direction.

Dinas Head The coastal walk around Dinas Head is a favourite walk especially when the bluebells are in abundance. A must!

Pwllgwallod and Cwm-yr-eglwys The walk between these two bays is an easy level walk. Approximately 15 minutes each way. The Sailor at Cwm-yr-eglwys is ideal for refreshments and tasty food.

Bridge to Parrog and beyond The footpath on the town side of the bridge along the estuary takes you to Parrog where you can walk along the waters edge and up over the cliff top along the coastal path. If you prefer, you can take the left turn at Parrog and return to Newport.

Berry Hill Farm to Nevern A favourite and special walk can be taken along the footpath adjoining Berry Hill Farm (leaving Newport Sands, heading towards Newport. Berry Hill is the farm on the left hand side just before the estuary bridge) The walk is especially pretty, along the winding river and up over the fields to Nevern. Nevern is a picturesque riverside setting with the church of St. Brynach which is well worth a visit. There is also a local pub for refreshments.

Beaches to Visit Ceibwr Bay.  Mwynt  a beautiful National Trust Beach near Cardigan. Abereiddy. Whitesands at St. Davids. Pembrokeshire has some of the best beaches in Britain.
